Loralai: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has cracked down on milk adulteration and food safety violations in Loralai, imposing fines on 14 centers, including multiple milk shops.
According to the BFA spokesperson, the zonal inspection team conducted checks in various areas of Loralai, penalizing:
– 11 milk shops for selling adulterated milk
– 1 hotel for poor sanitation and using adulterated milk for tea preparation
– 2 general stores for lacking licenses and selling expired products
Action was taken against dairy sellers for mixing powder and water to increase milk quantity. Expired cold drinks and other products seized from general stores were destroyed on the spot.
Prior to the crackdown, milk samples were collected from various shops and hotels for on-the-spot testing using a mobile lab.
