Abdullah Govt College hosts first Intercollegiate Kho Kho Championship

Karachi: Government Girls College Al-Noor emerged victorious in the inaugural Abdullah College
Intercollegiate Kho Kho Championship, defeating Government College for Women, Nazimabad,by 9-3 points in a thrilling final. Organized by Abdullah Government College for
Women North Nazimabad in collaboration with the Sindh Kho Kho Association.
Tournament Director DPE Batool Kazim said that eight teams from District central participated
in the tournament, including Sir Syed Government Girls College Nazimabad,Government Degree College for Women Nazimabad, Government Degree Girls College
Block K North Nazimabad, HI Osmania Government Girls Degree College, Government Degree Girls College Al-Noor 19 FB Area, Apwa
Government College for Women Karimabad,Nishtar Government College for Women 11-B North Karachi and the host Abdullah Government College for Women.
Batool Kazim said that I am deeply grateful to the Sindh Kho Kho Association for the incredible
support and guidance provided by the college principal, teachers and students of the college.She said that the efforts of the Sindh Kho Kho Association in promoting the game of Kho Kho,organizing tournaments, providing training
opportunities are truly remarkable, but you have also preserved the cultural heritage associated
with this beautiful game.
Professor Dr.Naveed Rab Siddiqui, Director General Colleges Sindh, along with Zohaib Memon
graced the occasion as the chief guest, expressing his
admiration for the girls’ exceptional skills and emphasizing the potential for Pakistan to excel internationally in Kho Kho with proper support. He announced plans to expand sports activities, including the upcoming
Sindh Games.
Prof. Dr. Naveed Rab Siddiqui appreciated the efforts of Director Physical Education Batool
Kazim for her excellent services. Prof. Dr.Naveed Rab Siddiqui distributed trophies, certificates and shields to the winning teams and encouraged them for their excellent performance in the tournament.
Principal Prof. Syeda Tasneem Fatima Rizvi presented a bouquet and shield on behalf of the college and thanked DG Colleges Sindh for
his presence. He also thanked Sindh Kho Kho Association President Dr. Arif Hafeez for his full cooperation in organizing the tournament.
On this occasion, Subia Athar, Ghazal Hussain,Nusrat Shams, Farheen, Rashida Parveen, Uzma
Askari, Fehmina Naz, Nuzhat Abbasi, Tuba Fayyaz, Hajra Hussaini, Rani Kiran, Saima Iftikhar, Amber Bashir, Nida Nasir, Jamila Burfat and others were also present.
Earlier, Government Girls College Al-Noor,Govt.College for Women Nazimabad and Abdullah Govt College secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively. The Fair Play Trophy was awarded to the Nishtar Government College for Women team.
The referee duties in the tournament were performed by Aurangzeb Ahmed and Shahroz Alvi.
