Governor directs to form special committee for investigations into financial irregularities in UOL
QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that universities are our assets and as such no carelessness would be tolerated in them at every level.
The Governor directed to form a special committee for probe into the financial irregularities in the University of Loralai (UoL) and submit report in the Chancellor’s office within two weeks.
He urged the Vice Chancellor of the University to give priority to the educational development and standard and mobilize all available resources for attaining the 80 percent performance score.
The Governor was chairing the meeting of senate of University of Loralai on Thursday in Quetta.
The judge of Balochistan High Court, Mr Justice Shaukat Rakhshani, Provincial Minister for Education, Raheela Hameed Durrani, Vice Chancellor of University of Loralai, Dr Ehsan Kakar, Secretary Education, Hafeez Tahir, Principal Secretary to Governor Muhammad Hashim Khan Ghilzai and other concerned high ups and members of the senate of University were in attendance.
The Governor on the occasion emphasized upon ensuring provision of quality education in the university besides bringing transparency, accountability and best performance there.
He also stressed that implementation on merit vim new recruitments and promotions is necessary.
However, he ordered to form a committee for conducting scrutiny of the previous recruitments in the university.
Meanwhile, the Governor was briefed about the overall performance, hardships and other issues being faced by the university in addition to the new resources of income.
The Governor on the occasion directed to take strict measures for check and balance in all administrative and financial matters of the university.
Meanwhile, certain important decisions were made in light of the recommendations and suggestions made during the course of meeting.
