Balochistan Food Authority Cracks Down on Milk Adulteration
Quetta, Dec. 27, The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has launched a crackdown on milk adulteration and substandard food items in Quetta, imposing fines on 9 milk shops and several other establishments.
During the operation, large quantities of adulterated milk and yogurt were seized and destroyed on the spot, while shopkeepers were warned to stop the malpractice or face further legal action.
According to a BFA spokesperson, other establishments fined during the operation included hotels, bakeries, general stores, wholesalers of food items, and cooking houses. Prior to the operation, samples of milk and yogurt were collected from milk shops and hotels and tested on the spot using mobile laboratory equipment.
The operation also targeted general stores and wholesalers in various areas of Quetta.
