The event was also graced by Mr. Saleem Mandiawala Senator, Senate of Pakistan, and Mr. Munawar Mahesar Director General Culture, Government of Sindh, and Dr. Fatima Hassan Chief Executive Josh Maleh Abadi Library, Arts Council of Pakistan. Officials from Helvetas Pakistan, Research & Development Foundation, Indus Crafts Foundation, and craftsmen and women of various parts of Sindh participated in the opening ceremony in large numbers. The event was organized by Helvetas Pakistan under the RESTORE project that aims to revive the livelihoods of Sindh’s most flood affected districts by supporting their indigenous crafts. On this occasion the distinguised guests expressed their valuable thoughts regarding richness of Sindhi culture, importance of cultural preservation, and the demise of Sindhi artisans. The speakers stressed the need to provide the local artisans platforms such as Sindh Crafts Exhibition 2024 that can connect and project their products to a wider audience. They also appreciated the efforts of Helvetas Pakistan and its partners in disaster relief and rehabilitation especially in worst hit parts of Sindh. Later, souveneirs were presented to the distinguished guests by Helvetas Pakistan.
