Anti-Narcotics Force Cracks Down on Smuggling: 11 Arrested, Contraband Worth Rs. 5.8 Million Seized
Rawalpindi. JAN. 01: In a nationwide crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 11 individuals and seized a significant quantity of contraband, including 32.914 kilograms of charas, valued at over Rs. 5.8 million.
The ANF conducted 10 operations across various cities, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Quetta, and Karachi. The seizures included:
– 12 kilograms of charas hidden in a vehicle near the M-1 Motorway in Islamabad, with two suspects arrested.
– 1.2 kilograms of charas recovered from a suspect near the M-1 Motorway in Islamabad.
– 10 kilograms of charas seized from an abandoned area in Jiwani, Gwadar.
– 6 kilograms of charas recovered from a suspect near Mehria Town, Attock.
– 120 narcotic tablets, 290 grams of opium, and 136 grams of charas seized from three suspects near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock.
– 1.2 kilograms of charas recovered from a suspect in Satellite Town, Rawalpindi.
– 2 kilograms of heroin seized from a truck in Karachi, with three suspects arrested.
– 24 grams of weed recovered from a parcel sent from the UK to a courier office in Rawalpindi.
The ANF has registered cases against the arrested individuals under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997.
