Gwadar, Jan. 2, A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Abdul Shakoor to discuss the progress of the polio eradication campaign’s fourth-day first catch-up day.

The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Latif Dashti, WHO representative Dr. Zafar Iqbal, PPHEI’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Sabir Hyatan, tehsil incharges, UCMOs, and other relevant stakeholders.

Dr. Abdul Shakoor shared that during the campaign, 530 non-available children have been covered, and 56 refusal cases have been resolved. However, 23 refusal cases remain, which will be addressed during the second catch-up day.

The meeting emphasized that polio teams will work with union council chairmen and vice-chairmen to cover the remaining non-available children. The presence of local leaders with these teams will help convince parents to vaccinate their children.
