Gunmen Attack Deputy Commissioner’s Convoy in Lower Kurram, Leaving Several Injured

A brazen attack on the Deputy Commissioner’s convoy in Lower Kurram has left several individuals injured, including the Deputy Commissioner himself, 3 police officers, and 2 Frontier Corps (FC) personnel. According to preliminary investigation reports, the attack occurred on Sunday morning at 10:35 AM when approximately 40-50 armed militants opened fire on the convoy.¹

The convoy, comprising 75 trucks loaded with food, medicine, and other essential items, was en route to Kurram as part of a peace agreement. The incident has raised concerns, as it occurred despite guarantees from peace committees. Authorities have termed the attack “alarming” and vowed to identify and apprehend those responsible.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
