Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairs Special Senate Meeting of Lakki Marwat University

Peshawar, January 6,. A special senate meeting of Lakki Marwat University was held at the Governor House in Peshawar, chaired by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi. The meeting discussed various issues related to the university, including the inquiry report of the Governor’s Inspection Team and the university’s statutes and rules of business.

The meeting approved the statutes and rules of business of Lakki Marwat University and referred them to the Standing Committee of the Department of Higher Education for further approval. The inquiry report of the Governor’s Inspection Team recommended actions on several issues, including the distribution of university assets, affiliation of colleges, faculty staff appointments, contract employees’ regularization, and compliance with HEC guidelines.

The meeting decided to send the inquiry report’s recommendations to the university’s syndicate for review and implementation. A committee was also formed to address the educational future of 5,000 students affected by the cancellation of illegal affiliations of 35 colleges. The committee will comprise representatives from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Department of Higher Education.
