Directions issued for handing over of 03 Plaza’s of BRT to Trans Peshawar for out sourcing and commercialization, Haji Rangeez Ahmed
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Transport Haji Rangeez Ahmed has said that the commercialization of BRT commercial plazas will not only provide business and employment opportunities to the people of the province but will also significantly increase the revenue of the province and the transport department. He said that the commercialization and outsourcing of BRT commercial plazas, including Chamkani Commercial Plaza, BRT Dabgari Garden Commercial Plaza and Hayatabad Commercial Plaza, which are spread over 18 kanals, 18 and 35 kanals respectively, which will make Peshawar a business hub and big firms here will be able to easily set up their own businesses here.
He expressed these views on Tuesday during a one-day visit to Trans Peshawar headquarters and commercial plazas Chamkani Dabagri Garden and Hayatabad. During his visit, the Special Assistant also chaired a meeting in the committee room of Trans Peshawar headquarters. On this occasion, MD Khyber Pakhtunkwa Urban Mobility Authority (PUMA) Pervez Subatkhel, Director General Peshawar Development Authority Abdul Ghafoor, CEO Trans Peshawar and other senior officials were also present.
The officials gave a detailed briefing to the meeting on commercial plazas, Trans Peshawar and BRT. While giving the briefing, the officials said that BRT Chamkani Commercial Plaza will be handed over to Trans Peshawar this week, on which 100 percent work has been completed, while Chamkani Commercial Plaza covers an area of 18 kanals. Similarly, the area of BRT Dabagri Garden Commercial Plaza is also 18 kanals, which will be handed over to Trans Peshawar by the end of April this year. Similarly, the BRT Hayatabad Commercial Plaza, which covers an area of 35 kanals, will be handed over to Trans Peshawar by the end of March this year and after the outsourcing process, these three plazas will be ready for commercial activities.
The Special Assistant personally visited and inspected the three plazas after the meeting and expressed satisfaction over the civil work. On this occasion, he said that the process of handing over the commercial plazas to Trans Peshawar should be further accelerated while the commercial plazas should be outsourced for commercial activities and open and transparent bidding should be done in this connection.
He said that it will also promote business in Peshawar which is the capital of the province and through these commercial activities Peshawar will become a business center. He said that the Transport Department is introducing digital online driving licenses for which an MoU is being signed with the KPIT Board tomorrow, January 8, 2025, while concrete and practical steps are being taken to improve the quality and efficiency of transport Adda,s across the province.
The Special Assistant has said that he is trying his level best to increase revenue of the Transport Department to 100% by the end of June this year. He said that the agenda of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI is to provide better services to the public and to promote prosperity in the province.
He further said that , the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has given clear instructions that all resources should be utilized for the welfare of the people and in the light of these instructions, today’s visit has been made so that employment opportunities can be provided to the people here and the province can move on the path of development.
