Protest Erupts Against Sui Gas Company’s Decision to Outsource Training Center
A protest was held outside the Sui Gas Company’s main gate, with students and staff members demonstrating against the company’s decision to outsource the Computer Training Center and Library (CTCL) to a third party. The protesters, who carried placards with slogans against the company, also set tires ablaze on the road, causing traffic to come to a standstill.
Speakers at the protest condemned the company’s move, stating that it would lead to the exploitation of staff members and deprive poor students of educational opportunities. They alleged that the company had been planning to outsource the CTCL for several years, despite its importance as the only library in the area ¹.
The protesters demanded that the company reverse its decision and make the staff members permanent instead of laying them off. They warned that they would continue their protest until their demands were met.
