Anti-Narcotics Force Cracks Down on Smuggling: 12 Arrested, 19.876 kg Narcotics Seized

Rawalpindi. Jan 11: In a nationwide crackdown on narcotics smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 12 individuals, including four women, and seized over 19.876 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 96 million.

The ANF conducted eight operations across various cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Hyderabad, Quetta, and Peshawar. The seized narcotics include heroin, churs, opium, and ice.

In one notable operation, the ANF arrested a woman at Islamabad International Airport who was attempting to smuggle 75 heroin-filled capsules to Riyadh. In another operation, 6 kilograms of churs were seized from a suspect near a bridge on IJP Road in Islamabad.

Other notable seizures include 3.5 kilograms of heroin from three suspects in Lahore’s Johar Town, 2.670 kilograms of churs from a car in Islamabad’s G-10 area, and 2.5 kilograms of opium from a woman in Hyderabad.

The ANF’s crackdown on narcotics smuggling is a significant step towards combating the menace of drug abuse in the country.
