Islamabad(PID AJK)11 January: Former Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan called on President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry here today.During the meeting, the duo discussed in detail the issues of mutual concern, prevailing political situation in AJK and human rights situation in Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.Both the leaders agreed in principle to launch an effective campaign from the base camp to promote Kashmir cause at global level besides highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri people.Voicing their serious concern over the fast deteriorating political and human rights situation in the Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir, they said on the one hand India was killing innocent civilians in Kashmir l while on the other hand it had choked every kind of dissent in the region by imprisoning Hurriyat leaders, civil rights activists and journalists who criticized its sledgehammer policy towards Kashmir and the Kashmiri people.” India is killing Kashmiri youth in fake encounters and the majority of Hurriyat leaders have been imprisoned”, they said. Under the given circumstances, they said, ” All the political parties of Azad Kashmir will have to unite and raise their voice aggressively both at national and international level to seek early resolution of the lingering dispute. On this occasion, former Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan appreciated Barrister Chaudhry’s significant contribution to the Kashmir cause and his efforts to highlight the issue at international levels. Meanwhile, Minister for Power Development Organization Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid and Minister for Public Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq also had a detailed meeting with president the Aiwan-e-Sadr.During the meeting the current political situation in Azad Kashmir, as well as other matters of concern came under discussion.Speaking on this occasion, Barrister Chaudhry stressed the need for highlighting Kashmir issue internally and externally.
