CM expresses discontent over slow pace of work on development projects; directs completion by end of FY
QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has expressed discontentment over slow pace of work on certain development projects by some department in the province and has directed to complete all ongoing projects by end of current financial year.
The Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting on the progress of new and ongoing development projects included under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), here at the CM’s secretariat on Tuesday.
The Provincial Ministers Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Mir Shoaib Nausherwani and Sardar Kohyar Khan Domki, Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit and administrative secretaries of different concerned departments were present.
The meeting was briefed about physical and financial progress of different new and ongoing development projects being executed under Provincial PSDP.
While expressing dissatisfaction over slow pace of development projects by some departments, the Chief Minister said that delay in completion of development projects hurt the public trust. This tendency is fully unacceptable anyway.
He said that we have made pledge to lessen the hardships of people gradually, as such slowness in speed of work on the projects is intolerable.
He expressed surprise over non-utilization of even a single penny on development work by some government departments during last nine months.
He made it clear to all that it is priority of his government to complete development projects well in time.
He directed all officers to ensure implementation on vision of the government and fulfill their responsibilities regarding implementation on the directives given in this regard.
He said that no compromise would be made on the public interest and directed to ensure timely completion of the development projects well in time. No excuse would be accepted in this regard, he maintained.
He said that he would write ACRs of the officers himself seeing their performance. He said that no doubt, the officers are capable, but the matter is of commitment and resolve.
He on the occasion directed to the officers to remain in contact with the general public and ensure implementation on the public welfare projects. In addition to this, the people may also be informed about the government’s initiatives of the development projects, and their opinion may also be sought, he maintained.
He said that we have firm resolve to spend resources of the province on their welfare. The clear policy has already been given about timeframe and quality of the projects, adding he mentioned.
