Health Dept. decides to take stern action against doctors drawing double salaries

QUETTA: The Provincial Health Department Balochistan has decided to take stern action against those doctors drawing double salaries from government.
According to Provincial Minister Health, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, it has been decided to register FIR against the doctors involved in financial corruption. He asserted that the corrupt doctors would have to face the music, and disciplinary action.
In an official hand out issued here on Thursday, it was mentioned that as many as 36 medical officers, 29 lady medical officers and nine dental surgeons are drawing double salaries from the department.
He also said that the details of contract doctors are also being sought from the international organisations.
In addition to this, the details of health staff deputed on deputation in the United Nations organisations have also been demanded from there. The Provincial Minister said that the employees who have completed their tenure would be directed to report in the parent department.
He asserted that the matters against rules and regulations wouldn’t be accepted. He said that questions are being raised on the great profession because of the black sheeps.
He said that the closure of hospitals is intolerable for the poor patients.
He said that it is just heart broken to see the condition of poor patients.
Meanwhile, the spokesman, Government of Balochistan, Shahid Rind said that the list of doctors involved in the financial corruption is a clear proof of the opportunism.
He said that the provincial government would expose those depriving the general public of the health facilities.
He said that blackmailing and illegal activities are not acceptable to the government. He said that strict action would be taken against those involved in corruption in the health sector.
He said that closure of hospitals for poor patients is not a forgivable act.
