Asfandyar Wali Khan, the chief of Awami National Party (ANP), has won a defamation suit against Shaukat Yousafzai, with the court ordering Yousafzai to pay Rs 150 million in damages.

Peshawar. Jan. 18. Yousafzai had accused Wali Khan of ‘selling Pakhtuns for two and a half million dollars’, prompting Wali Khan to file the defamation case in 2019. Despite being summoned, Yousafzai failed to appear in court, leading to the verdict in favor of Wali Khan.

According to Tariq Afghan Advocate, Wali Khan’s lawyer, Yousafzai has been absent from court for the past three hearings, and the court has expressed annoyance and granted him a week’s time. The next hearing is scheduled for February 8.
