Two-Day Workshop on Gender-Based Violence Concludes in Peshawar

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department successfully organized a two-day workshop titled “Training on Gender-Based Violence in Secondary Healthcare Facilities” on Peshawar. January 20-21. The workshop was held in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health System Strengthening Program.

More than 30 participants, including representatives from 11 District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals and the Health Department, attended the event. The primary aim of the workshop was to train master trainers to address issues such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and workplace harassment effectively.

During the workshop, participants were equipped with essential skills to handle GBV cases sensitively and to foster a supportive environment for victims. The program emphasized the importance of creating a safe and respectful atmosphere in the healthcare sector.

The Health Department and ADB reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the capacity of healthcare professionals to tackle these critical issues. Their shared goal is to ensure better health outcomes and provide a safer workplace for all.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants expressed their appreciation for the training and pledged to implement the knowledge and skills gained in their respective hospitals.
