03-DAY SPECIALIZED TRAINING ON FAST TRACKING OF INHERITANCE CASES FOR CIVIL JUDGES/ILLAQA QAZIS

Peshwar Jan. 22: 03-day specialized training on “Fast Tracking of Inheritance Cases” commenced at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, on January 22, 2025. Twenty four Civil Judges/ Illaqa Qazis posted across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are participating in the training.
The primary goal of the training is to equip the trainees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and to effectively fast‐track the inheritance disputes.
Mr. Justice Syed Arshad Ali, Hon’ble Judge, Peshawar High Court/Advisor KPJA, graced the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. Barrister Ikhtiar Khan Registrar PHC, Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, Mr. Zia Ur Rehman, Dean Faculty, Dr. Qazi Ataullah, Senior Director Research & Publication and all the Directors and officers of the Academy attended the event.
The Director General of the Academy, in his welcome note, highlighted the concept, objectives and significance of the training program. He expressed that the law of inheritance in Islam ensures justice and equity, particularly by protectiong women’s entitlement to inheritance. The timely and effective resolution of inheritance disputes plays a vital role in ensuring justice and promoting social harmony in society, he added.
The DG Academy further highlighted that the Academy has designed this comprehensive training program with aim and objective to enhance the participants’ understanding of Inheritance Laws, improve and develop their adjudication capacity, increase efficiency in handling inheritance cases, and ensure timely, just, and equitable decisions.
Mr. Justice Syed Arshad Ali, Hon’ble Judge, Peshawar High Court, in his remarks, spoke about the Inheritance Laws and expressed that this specialized training on fast‐tracking inheritance disputes would play a key role in enhancing the capacity of Civil Judges/ Illaqa Qazis to handle inheritance cases efficiently and fairly. By equipping the judicial officers with the necessary skills and knowledge, this initiative aims to promote a more effective and responsive justice system that can better answer the needs of the public.
He encouraged utilization of Alternative Dispute Resolution ADR) techniques as effective tools for resolving inheritance disputes, while maintaining the dignity and fairness of the adjudication process.
Mr. Justice Syed Arshad Ali applauded the Academy for arranging and conducting the activity. He advised the participants to actively participate in the training to effectively deal with the emerging challenges regarding inheritance disputes.
The training shall stand concluded on January 24, 2025.
