ANF Cracks Down on Drug Smuggling: 5 Arrested, Over Rs. 1 Crore Worth of Narcotics Seized
Islamabad Jan. 22: In a major operation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested five individuals and seized over 112.529 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 1 crore. The operation was carried out in various cities across the country, including Peshawar, Sheikhupura, Islamabad, and Lahore.
According to ANF spokesperson, the operation resulted in the seizure of:
– 11.129 kg of ice from a passenger’s trolley bag at Peshawar International Airport
– 24 kg of opium, 70.8 kg of churs, and 1.2 kg of ice from a car’s secret compartments near Hern Manor Interchange, M2 Sheikhupura
– 1.7 kg of opium and 1.2 kg of churs from a passenger bus on M1 Motorway, Islamabad
– 2.5 kg of ketamine from a suspect’s bag in Lahore’s Bahria Town
The arrested individuals will face charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway. The ANF’s crackdown on drug smuggling is a significant step towards curbing the illicit trade and ensuring public safety.
