Woman Protests Against Own Brother Over Land Dispute in Manjhand
Manj hand. Jan. 23: A woman from Manjhand, Shirbano, has come forward to protest against her own brother, Khuda Bux Mehmood, over a land dispute. According to Shirbano, her brother has illegally occupied her 3-acre land, which is registered in her name.
Shirbano alleges that her brother is being supported by the police, who have taken bribes from him. She also claims that her brother has been threatening her sons with dire consequences. Shirbano has appealed to the DIG Hyderabad and SSP Jamshoro to intervene and provide her with justice.
This incident highlights the prevalent issue of land grabbing in Pakistan, where powerful individuals and groups often exploit vulnerable communities and seize valuable land ².
