Pashtun Ulasi Jirga begins in Quetta; Nawab Jogezai, Achakzai, others attend

QUETTA: The three-day Pashtun Ulasi Jirga began here at a local marriage hall on Friday morning.
Arranged by the Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), the Jirga is being presided over by the convenor of Pashtun Jirga and eminent political and tribal elder, Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai.
The Chairman PkMPAP, Mehmood Khan Achakzai and other senior party leaders including Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai and others are also participating in the Jirga.
A large number of the elders from different areas and personalities from various walks of life are also attending the gathering. The representatives of minorities were also present at the Jirga.
The Jirga focused the overall political situation of the country besides the issues being faced by Pashtoons and others. The speakers and participants also talked about overall law and order situation and different incidents. They expressed their concern over the deteriorated law and order situation, which was evident from different mishaps occurred in Duki, Harnai, Musakhail and different other areas.
The Chairman PkMAP is scheduled to address the Ulasi Jirga at 12:30 PM today (Saturday). However, Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai would address the Jirga tomorrow (Sunday).
It may be mentioned here that the Ulasi Jirga is scheduled to remain continued till Sunday. Prior to this, similar Jirgas have already been organized in different other divisions of Balochistan.
