Police Determined to Curb Crime, Says Task Force InCharge DSP Moosa Abro
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand): The InCharge of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tando Adam, Muhammad Moosa Abro, has expressed his commitment to eliminating crime from the city. During a meeting with a delegation of journalists, he shared details of recent successes, including the prevention of bank robberies and the arrest of criminals involved in major offenses.
He stated that incidents of street crimes and minor thefts, such as house break-ins and motorcycle thefts, have significantly reduced. However, efforts are ongoing to bring them completely under control.
Speaking about the delayed Safe City project, DSP Abro mentioned that it is expected to become functional within a couple of weeks, with CCTV cameras being installed across the city. He emphasized that adopting technical methods alongside human intelligence will lead to greater success in curbing crime.
Addressing a question about the 15 emergency helpline, he acknowledged that while the service exists, it faces challenges due to resource limitations. Efforts are underway to ensure that citizens have access to direct contact numbers of duty officers to improve responsiveness.
On the topic of model police stations, he noted that while Sanghar district’s SSP selected a specific station for its accessibility, Tando Adam’s police stations are no less efficient. He also highlighted the need for more forensic equipment at the station level to improve investigations.
DSP Abro appreciated the overwhelming support from the residents of Tando Adam and stressed the importance of bridging the communication gap between the police and the community. He added that steps are being taken to promote community policing and enhance public engagement.
