Drug Trade Fuels Crime Wave in Tando Adam, Residents in Fear
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Open drug trade in Tando Adam has led to a surge in criminal activities, leaving residents gripped with fear and insecurity. Drug addicts have started breaking into homes and shops, resulting in a rise in theft incidents.
According to reports, drug addicts frequently commit thefts to sustain their habits. In a recent incident in the Chakrani Muhalla, unidentified culprits broke the locks of a cigarette warehouse and stole 40 cartons of various cigarette brands. The warehouse owner, Muhammad Afaq Ansari, stated, “We are cigarette distributors. Late at night, thieves broke the locks and stole 40 cartons of cigarettes. When we arrived in the morning, the locks were broken, and goods worth approximately Rs. 3 million were missing. An NC of the incident has been filed at the City Police Station. In another case, thieves stole motors worth millions of rupees from Moin Ansari’s power loom factory on Khando Road.
Furthermore, drug addicts have been reportedly breaking into homes across various Places, stealing water pumps, batteries, grills, mobile phones, cash, and other valuables. These incidents have become a daily occurrence, leaving no day free of such crimes.
Residents accuse the police of turning a blind eye to the issue and instead focusing on collecting monthly bribes from drug peddlers. This negligence has fueled public anger, with citizens demanding action to curb the drug trade and restore law and order.
Civil society and residents have urged authorities to take immediate measures to ensure safety and security in Tando Adam.
