ANF CRACKS DOWN ON DRUG SMUGGLING: 6 ARRESTED, OVER RS. 3.2 MILLION WORTH OF NARCOTICS SEIZED
Islamabad: Jan.28 The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a nationwide operation against drug smuggling, arresting six suspects and seizing over 19.659 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 3.2 million.
The operation, which was carried out in various cities across the country, including Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Islamabad, resulted in significant recoveries. In Rawalpindi, 18 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of ice, and 8 grams of weed were recovered from a parcel sent from the UK. The suspect was arrested on the spot.
Other recoveries included:
-Karachi: 4.6 kilograms of ice seized from a parcel destined for Australia
– *Balochistan:* 15 kilograms of charas recovered from an abandoned area in Panjgur
– *Islamabad:* 23 grams of heroin seized from a suspect on a passenger bus on the M-1 Motorway
The arrested suspects have been booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway.
