Provincial Minister Inspects Water Crisis in Hub, Approves Projects Worth Rs. 3 Billion
Hub. Jan. 28: Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Sadiq Umrani, visited Hub on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sanaullah Zehri to assess the water crisis in the area. Umrani chaired a meeting to discuss the water issues in Hub, which was attended by Secretary Hafiz Majid, PDWR Naseer Mujeeb, XEN Irrigation Abdul Jabbar Zehri, Deputy Commissioner Hub Mansoor Qazi, and Chief Engineer PHE Arif Shah.
The meeting approved several projects, including a water plan for the industrial zone and urban population, and a pipeline scheme worth Rs. 3 billion to supply water from Hub Dam to Leda Storage Reservoir. A committee was also formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hub/MD LEAD to resolve issues in the industrial zone.
Umrani stated that the provincial government is working to address the water crisis in Hub, and that President Asif Ali Zardari is taking personal interest in the development of Balochistan.
