Provision of livelihood to youth top priority of provincial Govt.: Chief Secretary
QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has stated that provision of livelihood to youth of the province is topmost priority of the provincial government.
He said that the government is going to start the programme for economic development of the province and provision of best opportunities of livelihood to youth in collaboration with Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP).
The Programme would be launched in different districts of the province.
This would boost economic activities in the rural areas and improve standard of living of the people.
The Chief Secretary was chairing a meeting held to review the programme here on Tuesday. Different aspects of the programme were reviewed in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary said that the programme is aimed at ending economic deprivation, alleviate poverty, mitigate effects of climate change and promote social harmony in the province. During the meeting, it was informed that different skills and training is imparted to 4320 TVET graduates under the Programme so that they may get livelihood according to their skills and capabilities.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion said that the provincial government is starting new projects for bringing improvement in standard of living of the people.
The Chief Secretary also said that 12,000 people would be provided interest free loans while 80,000 households would be provided livelihood opportunities in the province.
He believed that opportunities of livelihood would be made available for youth besides improving economy of the province.
The Secretary Planning Wali Muhammad Baraich, Chief Executive Officer of BRSP, Tahir Rasheed, Ibrahim Alvi and other concerned were in attendance.
