Peshawa: January 29. Provincial Minister for Livestock ، Fisheries and Cooperatives Fazal Hakeem Khan Yousafzai inaugurated project improving livestock productivity through Artificial insemination using sexed semen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Provincial Minister Fazal Hakeem Khan Yousafzai has directed to take strict measures to ensure the availability of livestock medicines in government dispensaries and to prevent substandard medicines.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister for Livestock Fisheries and Cooperatives Fazal Hakeem Khan Yousafzai, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the two-year project improving livestock productivity through Artificial insemination using sexed semen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Directorate General of Livestock Extension, said that various projects have been launched to increase milk production the aim of which is to breed cows of the best breed. The estimated cost of this artificial insemination project is Rs 495 million and this project will be completed in two years. Under this project, the best breed is to be obtained by mixing different breeds. 799 artificial insemination centers have been established across the province. The number of which will be further increased in the future so that the livestock farmers can get the facility of artificial insemination.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Director General Livestock Extension Dr. Asal Khan, Director General Livestock Research Dr. Ijaz Ali, Project Director Dr. Sajjad Wazir, Director Livestock Merged Districts Dr. Waheed Murad, officers of the Livestock Department and a large number of livestock farmers.
At the ceremony, Project Director Dr. Sajjad Wazir informed the participants about the effectiveness of the project and the benefits provided to the livestock farmers from this project
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Minister Fazal Hakeem Khan Yousafzai further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, steps are being taken for the welfare of the livestock farmers of the province, which will increase the milk and meat production of their livestock, which will increase their income. Under this project, sexed semen has been brought from Canada.
Provincial Minister for Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives directed that special attention should be paid to the prevention of slaughtering of Young cattle and strict action should be taken wherever complaints regarding slaughtering of Young cattle are received. In this regard, livestock officers should visit slaughterhouses on a daily basis.
Provincial Minister Fazal Hakeem Khan Yousafzai also directed to ensure the availability of livestock medicines in government dispensaries while strict measures should be taken to prevent substandard medicines. No compromise on quality will be made.
