Mardan : January 31. Crackdown on petrol pump owners selling petrol and diesel at prices higher than the fixed rate, several petrol pumps sealed.
It is the responsibility of the district administration to ensure the supply of petrol and diesel to the public at the government-set rates and no concession will be given to such illegal profiteers. Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr Azmatullah Wazer said .
Additional Assistant Commissioner Rustam Bin Amin made a surprise visit to petrol pumps in different areas of Tehsil Rustam.
Checking was done on petrol pumps regarding the government-set rates and gauges, however, several petrol pumps were sealed for low gauge and overcharging, while heavy fines were imposed on most of them.
Further, Additional Assistant Commissioner Rustam conducted an operation against illegal petrol pumps and petrol pumps and several illegal petrol pumps operating without a license were closed. During this, the managers of the petrol pumps were arrested. Strict instructions have been issued to all illegal petrol pump owners to close their illegal petrol pumps within two days, otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them.
The district administration’s actions against profiteers will continue.
