Karachi (January 31): Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, accompanied by Pir Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman, offered Friday prayers at Eidgah Sharif Mosque, located beside Alam Shah Bukhari Shrine. He participated in a spiritual and religious gathering, meeting scholars and devotees.
For the first time in Pakistan’s history, a Governor of Sindh delivered a thought – provoking speech on spirituality at the Friday congregation in Eidgah Sharif Ground. The gathering was attended by Pir Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman, Mufti Sohail Raza Amjadi, Mufti Aamir, and over 10,000 people.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Sindh highlighted the historical and cultural significance of Eidgah Sharif, emphasizing that mosques play a crucial role in spreading Islamic teachings. He stated, “Islam is a complete code of life, and following the Seerat-un-Nabi is the key to a successful life.”
Governor Kamran Khan Tessori shared a deeply personal reflection, stating, “My notification as Governor was issued on the blessed day of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal—this is the greatest honor of my life. Whatever I do for public welfare is only by the will of Allah. It is not within human power to grant anything; Allah alone chooses whom He wills for His work. My service to the people is purely for His pleasure, without any political motives.”
He urged the nation to correct their shortcomings and contribute towards Pakistan’s progress, adding that despite our mistakes, Allah has kept this country stable. “Our saints and scholars played a vital role in spreading Islam, and now it is our duty to serve humanity,” he said.
Mufti Sohail Amjadi, in his address, emphasized the historical significance of Eidgah Sharif Mosque, revealing that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah once offered prayers here. He remarked, “After Quaid-e-Azam, Kamran Khan Tessori is the first Governor to pray at this historic mosque.”
The gathering concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity led by Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori.
