Governor exhorts government to take concrete steps to establish modern sports complex at district level
QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has directed to the provincial government to take concrete steps for establishing modern sports complex at district level.
He said that sports are not mere sports, but these are also credible source of leading an organized life.
He said that there are lot of athletes, players and even spectators in Balochistan, but they are compelled to play in the streets and roads due to lack of necessary facilities and grounds.
He stressed that it is responsibility of the government to provide facilities to the players, who happen to be the ambassadors of their provinces and country.
The Governor was chairing annual meeting of the Sports Board here on Saturday.
The Advisor to Chief Minister for Sports, Ms. Meena Majeed Baloch, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Tariq Qamar, Principal Secretary to Governor, Hashim Khan Ghilzai, Director General Sports, Yasir Bazai, Atta Muhammad Kakar, Hayatullah Durrani were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor said that every talent needs opportunity, and at the time, when any player don’t have the basic facilities and opportunities for training and practice, then the good talent spoils even.
He said that sports have the power to polish hidden capabilities of the players besides encouraging them to excel. Sports also learn discipline, hard work and team work, he mentioned adding that these are also best source to save them from social evils.
He said that the players represent us at the national and international level and as such it is responsibility of the government to provide them the facilities.
