KIU, University of Sunderland UK to Collaborate on Academic Programs
Islamabad: Karakoram International University (KIU) and the University of Sunderland, UK, have agreed to explore avenues for academic collaboration, particularly in student exchange programs.According to the public Relations Office KIU a meeting was held at the Sunderland University Islamabad Office, where Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah, Registrar Dr. Hameed Lone, and Director Hunza Campus Dr. Rehmat Karim met with Regional Manager Mr. Humair Ahmad.
The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral ties to enhance global learning opportunities for students from both institutions. Both parties expressed interest in facilitating student mobility, faculty exchanges, scholarship opportunities, and summer schools at KIU Hunza Campus.
VC KIU Professor Dr, Attaullah Shah emphasized the importance of global partnerships in higher education, stating that this initiative aligns with KIU’s vision to expand its international footprint and provide students with diverse academic experiences.
The University of Sunderland’s Regional Manager, Mr. Humair Ashamed, reciprocated the enthusiasm, highlighting the university’s commitment to promoting global partnerships.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to initiate formal discussions on drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate future collaborative efforts.
Both institutions expressed optimism that this partnership would create new academic pathways for students and contribute to strengthening Pakistan-UK educational ties.
