Quetta: A meeting regarding the Bostan Economic Zone was held under the chairmanship of Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment. The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer Abdul Kabeer Khan Zarkoon, Director of Special Economic Zones Asif Nawaz Khosa, Director of Projects at the Investment Board Abdul Manan, and other officials.During the meeting, it was decided that The problems of local landlords will be resolved ,four companies, after being allotted plots, neither paid their dues nor commenced any work; therefore, their allotments will be canceled. Additionally, final notices will be issued to 11 institutions that have yet to begin their operations.The meeting also resolved that a committee will review 65 submitted enterprise applications, and the remaining 85 acres of plots will be allotted to the most suitable companies. The concerned Assistant Commissioner will provide details of undeveloped but clear (non-disputed) land, which will be proposed for development under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.On this occasion, Bilal Khan Kakar stated that Balochistan’s industrial sector offers excellent opportunities for investment. The Government of Balochistan is providing special incentives for investors in Special Economic Zones because by developing the industrial sector, Balochistan can be set on the path to prosperity.He further encouraged investors associated with the industrial sector to come to Balochistan and invest in Special Economic Zones, assuring them that all necessary facilities and support will be provided. He added that in Special Economic Zones, including the Gwadar Free Trade Zone and Export Processing Zones, the government is offering incentives such as 25% relief on import duties for plants, machinery, and equipment, along with 5% customs duty relief on PME imports.
