The series of corruptions in the export of cement between Pakistan and Afghanistan with the collusion of customs officials and agents continues
South Waziristan. Feb 4. The series of corruptions in the export of cement between Pakistan and Afghanistan with the collusion of customs officials and agents continues.
According to sources, a large quantity of cement sent from Pakistan to Afghanistan, which was meant to be used in Afghanistan, is being sold in markets and markets of Miran Shah, Mir Ali, Razmak Makin, Ladha, Tank in different parts of Pakistan. is All this is happening as a result of the conspiracies of customs officials and agents, who take bribes and verify the documents of these vehicles and bring them back to Pakistan instead of going to Afghanistan and sell them in different areas.
Due to collusion between customs officials and agents posted at Ghulam Khan Customs Terminal, this business is going on. Among these officials are Superintendent Jawad Sultan and Inspector Banaras Khan, who, in return for bribes, stamp the documents of the vehicles to Afghanistan, even though the vehicles are sent back to different parts of Pakistan. The prices of these cements are also low due to the tax exemption given by the government of Pakistan to Afghanistan, taking advantage of which these cements are being sold in the Pakistani markets.
As a result of this corruption, the country’s economy is suffering a severe loss, as tax evasion is taking place and the government is facing this loss. Some time ago, the Chief Collector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had ordered an inquiry against this scandal, but despite the passage of three months, the report of the inquiry committee has not been made public and the customs officials involved in the corruption are still in their positions, which is the responsibility of the government. It is having a negative impact on the economy and urgent measures are needed to prevent it from further damaging the national exchequer.
