Resolution adopted for establishing drug prevention center in Pishin: Minister P&D seeks proposals from parliamentary parties for in-camera session of BA on law and order

QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has stated that there’s no doubt that law and order situation is disturbed in the province, however, “foreign hand” is involved in disturbance of law and order. He said that the minor incidents are not occurring in the province, and we have to inform the members of assembly about some serious issues, which were brought before.
He said that all the members of assembly would be informed about the whole situation in the in-camera session to be held on Monday.
He also urged the parliamentary parties to come up with their proposals for in-camera session of the assembly.
He said that we have to make some tough decisions about the law and order situation in Balochistan.
The Provincial Minister for Planning and Development was speaking on the point of order raised by the leader of Opposition in the session while the Deputy Speaker, Ms. Ghazala Gola was in the chair, on Thursday.
The Leader of Opposition, Mir Younas Aziz Zehri said that the Quetta-Karachi highway is closed in Khuzdar since morning. Would anybody tell us as for how long the road would remain closed, he questioned adding whether the road would remain closed until Chief Minister comes on Monday.
He also complained that he wants to speak to IG Police, but he is not attending his call. He said that he would lodge protest on the road against IG Police.
He also charged that the police walas are involved in extortion.
The Member Provincial Assembly and former Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch asked the government to tell the practical measures instead of apprising the situation in the in-camera session.
He also asked the treasury benches to bring way forward on the issue of missing persons and other problems facing the province including law and order.
He said that mere criticism should not be made for the sake of criticism, rather there should be solution to the issues.
Earlier, the MPA from Gwadar, Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch tabled call attention notice regarding non-payment of the financial compensation to the people affected during last year’s rain in Gwadar.
He complained that despite visits of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister to Gwadar and assurances made by them, the affected people have not been compensated yet.
The MPA belonging to JUI, Asghar Tareen criticized the PDMA saying that it is not doing work for it has been established.
He said that the PDMA has been engaged in the cleanliness and other social works. He proposed to abolish the PDMA. However, the Provincial Minister for Health, Bakht Muhammad Kakar defended the Authority by saying that it has done a lot of work during the natural calamities in the province.
He said that it is job of the provincial government to make payment of the compensation. He said that the workers (of PDMA) hurts due to the assertions of members of assembly.
Meanwhile, the resolution was adopted about establishment of drug prevention center in Pishin. The resolution was tabled by the MPA from Pishin, Zafar Ali Agha.
Later, the session of provincial assembly was adjourned till 03:00 PM Friday (today).
