Over 140,000 students to appear: All arrangements finalized for Matric examinations starting from Tuesday
QUETTA: All the necessary arrangements have been finalized for the annual examinations of Matriculation due to commence from February 11 (tomorrow) in the province.
According to the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Quetta, more than 140,000 male and female students would be appearing the Matric examinations, which would remain continued till March 3, 2025.
The BISE Quetta sources informed that over 400 examination centers have been set up where around 1300 staff have been deputed.
It was also informed that the provincial government has decided to impose section 144 in surroundings of the examination centers.
Moreover, the use of mobile phones would also be banned in the examination centers.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan has directed to all concerned to take concrete measures for ensuring transparency in the examinations of matric.
While presiding over an online meeting last week, the Chief Secretary said that zero tolerance policy would be implemented strictly against cheating. He also directed to install CCTV cameras in the examination centers.
During the course of meeting, it was decided to enforce section 144 in the surroundings of examination centers. The Chief Secretary asserted that strict action would be taken against the staff found absent or negligent.
He said that the policy of zero tolerance would be implemented against cheating.
Meanwhile, the Secretary Education Department, Saleh Muhammad Nasar informed that special arrangements have been made for prevention of cheating in the examinations of Matric.
In this regard, all the district administration and concerned departments have been issued necessary directives so as to make the examinations transparent.
While sharing details of the arrangements, Secretary Education told that the lists of examination centers have been shared with the concerned Deputy Commissioners and Secretary Information Department.
Moreover, the data of availability of electricity, solar panels and other facilities has also been provided to the Secretary IT Department, he added.
In addition to this, the process of installation of CCTV cameras in the examination centers is continued.
He said that the accommodation and meal is also being arranged for the invigilation staff.
The necessary directives have been issued for appointing the teachers and heads in examination centers as invigilators.
He said that different departments have also been asked to provide supervisory staff for monitoring in the examination centers, he informed.
