SNGPL Task Force Raided in District Bannu
Lahore: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Task Force, in collaboration with the regional team, conducted a raid at Kot Adil, District Bannu, to dismantle illegal gas connections. During the operation, the team came under gunfire; however, no casualties were reported. An FIR has been lodged against those involved in gas theft.
It is important to highlight that this is not the first instance of violence against SNGPL teams in Bannu. Similar incidents previously occurred in Zakarkhel and Sukkari during operations against illegal underground gas connections. These unauthorized connections and direct gas usage contribute to a significant loss of 38.17% under SMS Bannu.
Despite these challenges, the SNGPL Task Force in Bannu remains committed to eliminating gas theft. In the fiscal year 2024-25, the team has submitted 121 FIR applications to various police stations in District Bannu. As a result, 59 FIRs have been registered against offenders, while 65 applications are still under process.
