Mardan : Feb 10. First case registered in Police Station City under PECA Act. A case has been registered against a citizen under the provisions of PECA Act on the complaint of the President and General Secretary of the Press Club for spreading negative propaganda on social media against the Press Club and its members. According to the details, a citizen named Zahid had been active against the Mardan Press Club and its members through various social media IDs for several years. He was using negative propaganda and abusive words against the Press Club and its esteemed members. A written application was submitted to DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi by the President and General Secretary of the Press Club along with evidence against the citizen named Zahid, on which the DPO took notice and issued orders to SP City Shafiur Rehman for legal action. SHO City Abdul Salam Khan, implementing the application, registered a case under the provisions of PECA Act at Police Station City. It should be noted that the first case was registered by the Press Club in City Police Station under PECA Act in Mardan district. An FIR is being investigated for further action and investigation. The police were notified and an investigation was initiated.
