Ghalanai. Feb 10. The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) in Peshawar yesterday supported the tribal jirga. Socio-political figure Noor Islam Safi said that We believe that there should be regular jirgas and consultative sessions regarding the problems of the tribal districts so that they can first understand the problems thoroughly and then find a concrete solution because after the merger, the people of the tribal districts are presenting the image of abandoned people. Noor Islam Safi further said that
Both governments have completely backed down from the promises and announcements made by the central and provincial governments during the merger and the province with which the tribes have been merged, namely Pakhtunkhwa, is also complaining about the lack of funds every day and considering the backward people of the tribal districts as an additional burden for themselves. Noor Islam Safi has categorically stated that we demand from the federal government that the promises made during the integration be fulfilled and that the tribes be provided with basic facilities by considering them as citizens equal to the people of other parts of the country and that concrete and effective steps be taken as a priority to stand in line with other developed areas and cities of the country in the journey of development.
