South Waziristan: Feb 11. Delay in transfer of district offices to district headquarters Ladha, people are suffering.
More than a year has passed since the bifurcation of South Waziristan, but still the district administration of Upper Waziristan has not shifted its offices to the district headquarters of Ladha. In contrast, the district administration staff is running the affairs through remote control from tanks hundreds of kilometers away.
Clear orders were issued by the top security officials for the immediate transfer of district offices, but the Deputy Commissioner and other officers are delaying the process on various pretexts, causing serious hardship to the public.
Talking to the media, tribal leader Malik AD Mehsud said that this is a unique situation in the history of the country, where the district administration and other government institutions are operating from another district instead of their original district through mobile and WhatsApp groups. He further said that all divisional officers including Deputy Commissioner, Tehsildar and other staff are not performing duty at their assigned station due to which the government’s grip is weakening and unknown elements are establishing parallel rule in the area, which is increasing unrest.
The tribal leader demanded from the Corps Commander Peshawar that the officers who are reluctant to give duty in South Waziristan Upper should be immediately removed from the post and appointed such officers who are bound to perform their duties honestly.
