District Reforms Oversight Committee Meeting Held Under Deputy Commissioner Sanghar
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A meeting of the District Reforms Oversight Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja. Officials from the education department and other relevant authorities participated in the session.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that the committee aims to monitor the education sector and ensure the implementation of the district’s educational plan. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja stated that while additional teachers have been appointed in several schools, some institutions still face a shortage of teaching staff. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving the education sector.
He further stated that reopening closed schools and upgrading school infrastructure are among the top priorities. All Assistant Commissioners have been directed to inspect schools regularly, and salaries of absent teachers will be withheld.
The meeting was informed that 209 school repair and maintenance projects are currently underway, though some have been stalled due to a lack of funds. The district has a total of 3,346 primary and high schools, with 284,716 students enrolled. While most schools have basic facilities, some still lack essential amenities and furniture.
Chief Monitoring Officer Roshan Ali Kunbhar, all Assistant Commissioners, education officers, Assistant Accounts Officer Muhammad Suleman Dero, and Taluka Education Officer Secondary Khipro Shabbir Ahmed Hingorjo were also present at the meeting.
