“The Agreement Will Save the University Rs. 500 Million Annually – Other Universities Should Also Adopt Solar Energy” – Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori

Karachi (February 12) – Under the leadership of Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Red Stone Energy and Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology at a ceremony held at Governor House. This agreement is expected to result in annual savings of Rs. 500 million for the university.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori congratulated Red Stone Energy and Sir Syed University on this remarkable initiative, calling it a historic step for the province. He emphasized that this initiative promotes green energy and aligns with the commitment to solarizing educational institutions.

He further stated that the agreement would reduce energy costs and contribute to environmental sustainability by cutting down carbon emissions. “The use of solar energy in universities will make our educational institutions more self-sufficient. This initiative ensures a brighter future for our youth,” he remarked. He added that the funds previously spent on electricity could now be utilized for research, development, and student welfare.

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori highlighted the positive impact of various projects under the Governor’s Initiative across the province. While speaking to the media, he stressed that the savings from this project should be used to provide scholarships to students. He also urged other universities in the province to adopt solar energy solutions.

“The future belongs to Information Technology, and we must focus on it. It has been 18 months since we launched IT courses under the Governor’s Initiative,” he noted. He further stated that all ongoing projects under the initiative are greatly benefiting the public.

Responding to a question, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori mentioned that Governor House has been hosting Iftar and dinner for the past two years. “This year, we will provide Iftar and dinner to one million people during Ramadan. Additionally, prizes will be distributed through a lucky draw, ensuring that winners receive items that help them sustain their livelihoods,” he concluded.
