Mardan: Feb 13. Loya Jirga for Peace and Stability – Mardan Police, Pakistan Army and People’s Cooperation to Further Strengthen.

Jirga chaired by DPO Mardan, attended by MPA Zarshad Khan, Pakistan Army officers, Chairman Katlang Riaz Khan, DRC members, regional elders, and police officers, here on Thursday.
A Loya Jirga was held under the supervision of DPO Mardan, Pakistan Army, Police and regional elders to ensure peace and stability in Mardan and to formulate a joint strategy against anti-social elements. MPA Zarshad Khan, Pakistan Army officers, Mayor Katling Riaz Khan, DRC members, regional elders, and police officers participated in this jirga.
During the jirga, the participants emphasized that mutual cooperation between the police, Pakistan Army and the people is the guarantee of eliminating crimes and effective action against anti-social elements. DPO Mardan while addressing said”Maintaining law and order is our top priority, and for this, timely information and cooperation of the public is very important. Mardan Police is always ready to protect the lives and property of the public, but citizens should also immediately report any suspicious activity, criminals or unusual movements so that timely action can be taken.”
The jirga appreciated that the people of Katling and Rustam are known for their brotherhood and cultural heritage. It is a good thing that we all stand in a row against terrorism and anti-social elements, because the enemy cannot succeed because of our brotherhood.
During the jirga, the public was also urged to ask any stranger in their areas who he is and why he has come here. If people remain silent spectators, the consequences can be dangerous. Appealing to the people to stand side by side with the state institutions, it was said:
“If you support the state institutions, the state will also provide you with complete protection.”
During the jirga, it was also made clear that not only the police but also the Pakistan Army have made immense sacrifices for the establishment of peace in the country, and this trend will always continue. The police and the army have always played their role in securing the dear homeland by sacrificing their lives, and this struggle will become stronger with the support of the people.
It was also agreed in the jirga that traditional and legal means will be made more effective for resolving disputes at the local level. Social harmony will be promoted by eliminating enmities and grudges through the jirga, so that no terrorist or anti-social element can take advantage of these disputes.
It was also announced in the jirga that the Public Liaison Committee (PLC) has been reactivated so that minor issues at the social level can be resolved immediately and justice can be provided to the people quickly.
The participants in the jirga were warned that if the weapons possessed by terrorists and anti-social elements are ignored, tomorrow these same weapons will be in the hands of your children. The public was appealed to be vigilant in their settlements, streets and neighborhoods and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police or army.
