The Kodi Mela was organized for the first time with the cooperation of the district administration and the sports department, in which thousands of spectators including Tank Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Kalachi, Daraban and Jandola participated. Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion of the festival. Renowned wrestlers of the country participated in the festival and received praise from the spectators with their excellent performance.

The special guest of the Kodi Mela was Sector Commander FC and Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Ahmed Khan Bettani. Addressing the closing ceremony of the festival, Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Khan Khattak said that the aim of the festival was to provide a pleasant and affordable entertainment to the public. Under the public agenda of the provincial government, more sports competitions will be organized soon, which will provide healthy entertainment to the youth and keep the sports fields clean. He said that this festival not only provided entertainment to the people but also proved to be a milestone in promoting local sports. At the end of the ceremony, Sector Commander, Deputy Commissioner Tank Tanveer Khan Khattak, District Sports Officer Irfan Khan Bettany and District President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Farhan Hakeem Khan distributed cash prizes and trophies among the best players.
