For the first time in the tribal district of Mohmand, an open court will be organized for special people with the cooperation of the district administration and philanthropists, more than 200 special people will participate in the court, special counters will be set up in all government offices and banks for special people, and all possible help will be provided with the cooperation of the provincial government. Deputy Commissioner Mohmand Muhammad Yasir Hassan expressed these views while addressing an open court organized for special persons at the District Headquarters Ghalnai. He said that the aim of the event is to take joint steps to solve the problems of special persons with the cooperation of philanthropists, Social Welfare and Baitul Mal. The provincial government as well as the district administration will continue to cooperate for the welfare of special persons of Mohmand district. For this purpose, a skills center for special persons will be established in Mohmand district with the cooperation of the Social Welfare Department, where the district administration will contribute to the salaries of teachers. Issuing instructions on this occasion, the DC said that special counters should be established for special persons in all government offices and banks in Mohmand district so that these people do not face any inconvenience in coming and going. He announced that Rs 7,000 each will be given as a Ramadan package on the spot for the special people present at the ceremony with the cooperation of the district administration and philanthropists. The DC said that the provincial government has approved funds for merged areas in the Provincial Council for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, so 1134 special people of Mohmand district will get Rs 10,000 each.
He said that if anyone needs a wheelchair, etc., they should apply through the website. A sports gala will be organized for special people in Mohmand district and assistance will be provided to special people in opening shops in government schools, while they will also talk about fee waiver for special children in private schools.
Ziaullah Khan, President of the Mohmand District Special People Representative Organization, while speaking, said that for the first time in history, the district administration called special people to listen to their problems. Ziaullah said that there are about 4620 registered special people in Mohmand district and they are facing various problems.
He presented some demands before the Deputy Commissioner Mohmand and said that skill centers should be established for special people in all three sub-divisions of Mohmand district and special counters should be made in various offices, while quotas should be set for special people in government jobs, projects and Mohmand Dam.
Ziaullah said that university level scholarships should be arranged for special people and a letter should be written to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to include all special people in the Provincial Council for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities Program.
District Officer Social Welfare Department Imran Khan, while addressing, said that 328 wheelchairs and hundreds of scholarships have been distributed to special people in Mohmand district since 2020. He said that there are 1134 special persons registered in Mohmand district, while in addition, there are about 4620 special persons in Mohmand who are now being registered in a phased manner.
