Kohat. February 15: 1-DAY SPORTS FESTIVAL ORGANIZES FOR THE INMATES OF DISTRICT JAIL KOHAT.COMMISSIONER KOHAT ALSO INAUGURATES CHAKRA OFFICE AT KOHAT JAIL
The district administration Kohat has under the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Program “Awami Agenda” organized a one-day Sports Festival in District Jail Kohat in which Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah was the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram Chitrali was the guest of honor. The festival beside others was also attended by the District Sports Officer Kohat.
Commissioner Kohat Division on this occasion also inaugurated the newly constructed Chakra Office which includes Barber Shop, Library and IT Office. He appreciated the establishment of the library and promised to provide more books in it so that the prisoners can benefit from the light of knowledge.
Competitions of Volleyball, Tug-of-War, Musical Chairs and other exciting games were the part of the said Sports Festival. The inmates participated in these competitions with enthusiasm and excelled. The winning players were encouraged by giving trophies and prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Kohat Division and Deputy Commissioner Kohat appreciated the positive activities in the Jail and said that the prisoners will be provided with all the basic rights as per the law. They further said that the prisoners should use their time positively so that they can play their role in the society as a useful citizen after release.
Commissioner Kohat also promised to installation of water filtration plant in the Jail which will ensure the supply of clean and quality drinking water to the prisoners.
Superintendent District Jail Kohat thanked all the guests and presented them shields. The Jail Superintendent also announced the holding of a 3-day Sports Gala in the Jail after Eid-ul-Fitr, which will include more exciting sports competitions. This Festival not only provided entertainment for the inmates but also proved to be a great tool for promoting positive attitudes and teamwork among them. Such activities play an important role in the rehabilitation of prisoners and prepare them for reintegration into the society.
