Peshawar: Feb 19. Important Meeting Held on Amendments to Section 12 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Act 2019

An important meeting was held in the committee room of the Civil Secretariat Peshawar under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Department regarding the proposed amendments to Section 12 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Act 2019. The meeting was chaired by Provincial Minister for Law, Aftab Alam Advocate, and was attended by senior officials from the Charity Commission, Board of Revenue, Home Department and Law Department.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion took place on the proposed amendments to Section 12 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Act 2019, which pertains to the registration of charities. The Law Minister directed that the registration process should be further strengthened and made more effective to ensure transparency in the financial resources of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and to prevent the financing of terrorism.

All relevant institutions presented their recommendations during the meeting, and it was unanimously agreed that effective measures would be taken to enhance transparency and strengthen the legal framework of the charity sector. Minister for Law, Aftab Alam Advocate, instructed all concerned departments to finalize the proposed amendments and ensure their prompt implementation.
