Anti-Narcotics Force Cracks Down on Drug Smuggling, Arrests 8 Suspects
Islamabad Feb. 21. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a nationwide crackdown on drug smuggling, arresting eight suspects and seizing over 248.429 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 5.66 crore.
The ANF conducted five operations across different cities, including Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Mastung, Sheikhupura, and Lahore. In Sialkot, three suspects were arrested with 3.6 kilograms of charas, which they confessed to selling to students in educational institutions.
Other notable seizures include:
– Rawalpindi: 136 grams of weed seized from a parcel sent from Thailand
– Mastung: 220 kilograms of opium seized
– Sheikhupura: 21.6 kilograms of charas and 2.4 kilograms of opium seized from three motorcycle-borne suspects
– Lahore: 313 grams of opium, 380 grams of charas, a pistol with two magazines, and a drone seized from two motorcycle-borne suspects
The ANF has registered cases against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act and has initiated investigations.
