Promotion of thoughtful literary activities in mother languages vital for harmony among civilizations, insists Governor
QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has insisted that promotion of thoughtful literary activities in the mother languages is necessary for harmony among the civilizations.
This, the Governor stated in a message issued on eve of silver jubilee of International Mother Languages Day observed on Friday.
The Governor maintained that there is immense importance of mother languages in ensuring identity of nations, wideness of knowledge and thoughtfulness and sustainable development.
He said that the international day of mother languages lays emphasize upon that their legal status is lasting because of the unconditional love of the mothers.
Worth mentioning is also that the United Nations charter and 1973 Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the preservation, development and promotion of mother languages, the Governor Balochistan added stressing that it is necessary to promote thoughtful literary activities in mother languages for promotion of harmony among the civilizations.
He also said the objective behind celebration of Mother Languages is to highlight their importance in the national development and harmony among the human beings.
The Governor said that mother languages are not only source of expression, but also a powerful cause of mutual coordination, which transmit the heritage to one generation to the other.
He also stressed that there is a dire need of guidance and assistance of intellectuals, writers, poets and especially policy makers for protection and development of the mother languages.
While acknowledging importance of mother languages, we can work for more comprehensive and diversified world, he added.
