CBP Takes Immediate Action to Manage Rain-Related Challenges in Peshawar Cantt, Urges Public to Follow Safety Measures
Peshawar: Feb 25. The Cantonment Board Peshawar (CBP) has swiftly mobilized additional sanitation staff and mechanics in response to the ongoing rain-spell affecting Peshawar especially in Cantt areas. These efforts aim to clear stagnant water and ensure the efficient drainage of sewage systems across the cantt areas.
As heavy rainfall continues to impact various parts of Peshawar as warning issued by the PDMA, CBP remains committed to addressing waterlogging and drainage blockages before emerging such issues in cantt areas. To mitigate the effects of the rain, the department has deployed extra sanitation teams with safety gadgets to work round the clock, clearing water and ensuring the smooth flow of the city’s sewage systems. These proactive measures are designed to minimize disruptions to residents and prevent urban flooding.
A CBP spokesperson emphasized, “Our teams are working tirelessly to ensure that the cantt areas remains safe and its infrastructure functions properly during this weather event. The safety and well-being of our citizens is our top priority. We urge everyone to remain cautious and follow safety precautions during this challenging period.”
In addition to these efforts, CBP is advising the public to take extra care during the rainstorm. Residents are strongly urged not to touch electric poles or wires, as wet conditions increase the risk of electrical hazards. It is also essential to avoid walking or driving through flooded streets, as hidden dangers like open manholes or fast-moving currents may pose serious risks. CBP encourages citizens to report any stagnant water or drainage issues promptly so that teams can respond quickly and effectively.
Additionally, the public is advised to keep children indoors and avoid unnecessary exposure to hazardous weather conditions. Homeowners are also encouraged to check for obstructions around drainage areas to ensure the proper flow of water and reduce the risk of localized flooding.
CBP continues to work closely with local authorities and emergency services to address any weather-related concerns and ensure a coordinated response to the rainstorm. The department assures residents that efforts to maintain the city’s cleanliness and infrastructure are ongoing, with the aim of minimizing disruptions and ensuring the safety of Peshawar’s residents.
