Mardan: Feb 25. Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toro has said that the provincial government is taking concrete steps to make special people useful citizens of the society. On the instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each is being provided to 37,000 special people across the province. Rs 370 million has been allocated in the budget for this purpose. He was addressing an open court held for special people at the Special Education Complex Mardan on the occasion of distribution of cheques of Rs 10,000 each among 850 special people, here on Tuesday . . Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, District Social Welfare Officer Muhammad Shoaib and Deputy Director of Special Education Complex Aniq Ahsan also spoke on the occasion. ADC Relief and Human Rights Iqbal Hussain, besides officers of various government departments and special people attended the ceremony in large numbers. Provincial Minister Zahir Shah Toro and Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir said that the Special Education Complex Mardan is playing an important role in the education and training of special people. Allah has blessed these people with special abilities, it is necessary to pay special attention to their education and training. The Food Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner Mardan to take necessary steps to make the system of purchasing various equipment transparent for the welfare of special people and said that those who betray the funds allocated for these people will be made an example of.
In response to a question during the open court, he said that necessary steps will be taken to include disabled people in the Benazir Income Support Program, while special desks will be established for special people in hospitals. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure the implementation of the two percent quota set for special people in government offices. He announced a grant of Rs. 10 million for solarization of the Special Education Complex. He also assured the construction of more rooms in the hostel of the complex and the resolution of problems. Finally, Food Minister Zahir Shah Toro and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Azmatullah Wazir distributed relief checks among special individuals.
